Sherborn Snappers dive into summer season at Farm Pond

The Sherborn Snappers Swim Team has returned to Farm Pond for another summer of competitive and recreational swimming. The team, open to residents of Sherborn and Dover, practices in a six-lane, 25-yard pool built right into the pond between 180 and 220 Lake Street.

The Snappers focus on developing proficiency in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, with coaches emphasizing personal improvement alongside team success. Registration for the 2026 season was handled entirely online at $275 per swimmer. New this year, the team is sporting green and black Sporti Molecule suits, with a fit kit available during the first week of practice. Sherborn Yacht Club sets sail for another summer on Farm Pond

The Sherborn Yacht Club has opened its docks for the 2026 summer season, welcoming members back to sailing, kayaking, and paddle boarding on Farm Pond. Nestled on the western shore, the club offers junior and adult sailing programs, weekly races, and social events through Labor Day.

Select Board election results certified

May 12, 2026

Paul DeRensis and Steven Tsai were re-elected to three-year terms on the Select Board, while Mason Kaye joins the School Committee and David Welch returns as Sawin Academy Trustee. A total of 288 ballots were cast.

Annual Town Meeting approves FY27 budget

April 28, 2026

Voters at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting approved the fiscal year 2027 operating budget, including funding for road maintenance, the Sherborn Library, and continued support of the Dover-Sherborn Regional School District.

Advisory Committee sets fall hearing schedule

June 25, 2026

The Sherborn Advisory Committee announced its fall hearing schedule, beginning September 9. Residents are invited to submit articles for the 2027 Annual Town Meeting warrant by January 15, 2027.

BOARD OF HEALTH

The Sherborn Board of Health oversees public health regulations, food service permits, septic system approvals, and recreational water testing in town. The five-member board meets monthly on the first Wednesday at 7:00 PM (virtual via Zoom). Current members are Co-Chairs Daryl Beardsley and Julie Dreyfus, Vice-Chair Steven Constantine, Diana Hoek, and Dr. Rebecca Hunnewell. Staff: Mark Oram, Health Agent, and Sarah Lapin, BOH Administrator. Residents can submit questions or permit applications by phone or through the Town Hall front office.

Equestrian trail network grows by two miles in South Sherborn

The Sherborn Trail Riders Association, working with a private landowner and the Conservation Commission, has opened a new two-mile stretch of bridle path connecting the Rocky Narrows Reservation to the existing Death Eddy Brook loop. The link completes a long-sought continuous ride from Western Avenue to the Charles River corridor without crossing pavement.

Sherborn, sometimes called "the horse town," has more than 60 miles of marked equestrian trails — among the densest networks per capita in eastern Massachusetts. The new segment is open to walkers and mountain bikers as well; trail etiquette signs ask non-riders to step off the path and speak quietly when horses approach.
